Pozdrav svima,

Evo opcija:
Pre-school (and out-of-school) childcare – 4 main types:
• Au-pair – usually living-in with you as part of their language learning experience, you only pay “pocket money” (c. £50-100 a week, usually not taxed) , but of course, you still need to have some sort of agreement about working hours by law. No checks / education is required.
• Nannies – usually live-out (staying at own place), they can but don’t have to be OFSTED registered (OFSTED = childcare regulator which poses certain obligations on carers, like minimal education, first aid certification and criminal records checks). You have to pay a salary of c. £7+ per hour (gross). You are also responsible to pay their taxes and national contribution (can be done by you or you can do it via an agency for a small fee). Obviously, the advantage is the 1:1 care, and often their flexibility, however, they are expensive. You can have a “nanny-share”, i.e. agreeing with another family to share one nanny in your or their home, and share the costs.
• Childminders – most popular type of childcare if you have more than 1 child. Small number of children per OFSTED registered carer, usually local to a certain school, staying at their home which is regularly inspected for safety and appropriateness. Childminders often do “school runs” (picking up children from school). They cost c. £100 a week, depending on number of children, child’ age, full day / after school only, etc.
• Nurseries (kindergardens) – can be independent or part of a school. Either way, they are mostly private and you pay fees from c. £50 / day up. You can benefit from salary sacrifice scheme (the fees are taken from your salary before tax is implied, so effectively you pay fees – 40% if you are a higher tax earner).
Pozdrav,
Vladimir
