Pogledaj npr. ovaj site - gde je ukratko objasnjeno sta je to GMO, kako se prave GMO biljke i kako se vrshi detekcija. Ono sto meni upada u oko je da je to nesavrshena tehnologija, gde nije moguce dobiti totalno cist rezultat - zasto to pricam:
To make a genetically modified organism, three main components are required: the gene you want to transfer(trans-gene), the organism you want to put it into (target species), and a vector(virus) to carry the gene into the target species cells.

The trans-gene is then inserted into a vector that is capable of getting inside cells of the target species. To do this a scientist removes the portions of the virus’ genome that cause harm, but leave the genes responsible for getting into the host cells. Then the target gene is inserted into the host cells. Once in the host cell the genes will insert into the host’s genome. After this, every time the genome is replicated and new cells are made the trans-gene will also be found the the DNA of each new cell.
Dakle, iseca se deo DNK pomocu enizma dobijenih iz bakterija, pa se onda preko modifikovanog virusa (nakalemi mu se taj deo tamo gde je virus nosio svoj genetski materijal) ubaci u celije zeljenog organizma.
I sve je to divno i krasno dok se neprocita deo, kako se ustvari detektuje da li je neka biljka GMO ili ne:
Most genetically modified crops have been "modified" using a common vector. In order to check if a food has been genetically modified one can test for the presence of part of the vector's DNA in the food of interest. The general procedure to do this is relatively simple using standard molecular biology techniques.

Dakle, oni ne testiraju DNK za svaku vrstu GMO-a npr. biljke koja postoji - vec testiraju na ostatke genetskog materijala virusa (vektora) koji je upotrebljen da se geni ubace u target celije.
To implicira da GMO biljke pored genetskog materijala originalne biljke i gena koji se namerno ubacuju -> nose i deo koji prenet sa virusa upotrebljenog za implementaciju tog materila. Dakle, IMHO, daleko je to od preciznog kopiranja (u sitna crevca)... kad deo virusa postaje deo DNK samog GMO organizma.
Za nekog je to prihvatljiva greska, za mene nije. Na stranu sto relano neznaju na koje sve nacine ce to ubacivanje DNK (sto od virusa, sto zeljenog) da promeni biljku i njena svojstva, vec to rade nagadjanjem, po osnovu verovatnoce. Radije cu da sacekam 50-100 godina, pa u nekom drugom zivotu...
